U019687 — Multimedia unit lost communication
Quick answer
U019687 indicates that the gateway has lost communication with the multimedia head unit, so audio and screen functions stop working.
What to check first
- Read all stored fault codes with a scan tool and deal with related codes first.
- Check whether other modules on the same network also report communication faults; one module offline can set codes in several others.
- Check the 12 V battery state of charge and terminals; a weak 12 V supply causes many electronic faults.
Symptoms you may notice
- Centre screen blank or frozen
- Infotainment functions unavailable
- U019687 stored in the gateway
- Screen restarting intermittently
Can I still drive?
Usually drivable — have it checked soon. If in doubt, park the car and ask a technician — a fault that limits power or shuts the high-voltage system down will not clear by itself.
Parts that fix U019687
