BYD Suspension and Steering Parts — Sixteen OE Numbers for One Part Name
In our own BYD parts index, "Suspension Spring Washer" carries sixteen distinct OE numbers, "Shock Absorber" twelve and "Front Wheel Suspension Arm" ten. Nothing there presents any of them as a replacement for another, and none carries model-year fitment. The habit that works on European-brand catalogues — order by name, let the VIN screen the variants — therefore does not transfer. You order by number, and you check that number against the VIN first.
1. What actually sits inside the category
Suspension and steering is the largest category in our BYD index, at one hundred lines spread over eighteen part families. The shape of that spread is the story: eleven of the eighteen families carry five or more numbers each.
| Part family | Numbers in our index |
|---|---|
| Suspension Spring Washer | 16 |
| Shock Absorber | 12 |
| Front Wheel Suspension Arm | 10 |
| Wheel Hub | 9 |
| Shock Absorber Bumper | 9 |
| Wheel Suspension Arm | 6 |
| Link Stabiliser | 6 |
| Ball Joint | 5 |
| Suspension Strut Mounting | 5 |
| Shock Absorber Cover | 5 |
| Engine Mount | 5 |
| Tie Rod End | 4 |
| Stabilizer | 2 |
| Coil Spring | 2 |
| Mc Pherson Column Bearing | 1 |
| Front Wishbone Bushing | 1 |
| Suspension Beam Complete | 1 |
| Wheel Bearing | 1 |
| Total lines | 100 |
Read that table as a warning, not as a catalogue extract. A family with sixteen numbers is not a family with sixteen stock options; it is a family where the identifier on the box is the only way to tell one member from another. The three widest families are these:
| Family | Every number indexed under that name |
|---|---|
| Suspension Spring Washer | 10775328-00 10775331-00 11085250-00 12438267-00 12842661-00 13312703-00 13312704-00 13499676-00 14012458-00 14079974-00 14461596-00 14461597-00 15741248-00 15741250-00 17132768-00 17132769-00 |
| Shock Absorber | 13351989-00 13352010-00 13748824-00 14278232-00 14278235-00 14278245-00 14646005-00 14646016-00 14646019-00 17132720-00 17132745-00 17132775-00 |
| Front Wheel Suspension Arm | 13329943-00 13329981-00 13329982-00 14018536-00 14018537-00 14078043-00 14078044-00 15503793-00 15503812-00 15796223-00 |
Sixteen numbers behind one name, twelve behind another, ten behind a third. None is presented anywhere as a replacement for a sibling, and no fitment column narrows the field.
2. Why one part family spreads across twelve numbers
Several pressures create this shape, and all of them act at once.
Bodies. The European line-up runs from a compact hatchback sold in Europe as the Dolphin up to a seven-seat SUV sold as the Tang, with the Atto 3, Seal, Seal U, Sealion 7 and Han in between. Wheelbase, mass and axle load vary enough that one suspension family will not serve them all.
Powertrain on the same body. Several BYD bodies exist as a battery-electric version and as a DM-i plug-in hybrid version, badged separately in Europe rather than merely described differently — the same shell is marketed as Seal U and Seal U DM-i. Different front-axle mass and different packaging under the bonnet branch the dampers-and-springs family again.
Running change. A vehicle that stays in production across several years accumulates revisions. Our index does not label them, so we do not date them, but many near-contiguous numbers inside one family is what you would expect from revisions kept under separate identifiers.
Trim and axle specification. Wheel and brake packages change hub geometry, and nine Wheel Hub lines are listed alongside nine Shock Absorber Bumper lines.
The practical consequence is simple. "Do you have a front lower arm for a BYD Seal?" cannot be answered yes or no: ten arm numbers exist and nothing in the index says which one that vehicle takes. One specific number can be answered.
3. Left, right, and the trap of adjacent numbers
Handedness is the first assumption to drop. Nothing in the index says any chassis line serves both sides, so we treat each number as side-specific. Several families contain pairs of exactly the kind that produces:
| Pair in one family | Family |
|---|---|
12252706-00 / 12252707-00 |
Ball Joint |
13329981-00 / 13329982-00 |
Front Wheel Suspension Arm |
13471394-00 / 13471395-00 |
Link Stabiliser |
14018536-00 / 14018537-00 |
Front Wheel Suspension Arm |
14078043-00 / 14078044-00 |
Front Wheel Suspension Arm |
14461596-00 / 14461597-00 |
Suspension Spring Washer |
15194857-00 / 15194867-00 |
Tie Rod End |
18885263-00 / 18885264-00 |
Tie Rod End |
We do not label those pairs left or right; we only observe the pairing. When the vehicle is on your lift, read the side off the label or the removed component; when the old part has already gone to scrap, send us the VIN and we check the application against the OE number.
The second trap is the opposite one: numbers that sit close together do not necessarily belong together. 14012457-00 is a Suspension Strut Mounting and 14012458-00 one digit later a Suspension Spring Washer. Inside the 171327xx block we find a cover at 17132767-00, a spring washer at 17132768-00, strut mountings at 17132770-00 and 17132773-00, a bumper at 17132772-00 and a shock absorber at 17132775-00. One neighbourhood, five jobs. An order written from memory gets this wrong easily.
4. Assembly or component — choosing the purchasing level
Because the index lists some components both as pieces and as part of larger units, each row below is a choice rather than a fact.
| Symptom reported | Lower-ordering-level line in our index | Higher-ordering-level alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Torn or knocking bush in the lower arm | Front Wishbone Bushing 15164484-00 |
A full Front Wheel Suspension Arm line, e.g. 15503793-00 |
| Noise or movement at the top of the strut | Suspension Strut Mounting 15081210-00 |
The matching Shock Absorber line, e.g. 14646005-00 |
| Wheel bearing play | Wheel Bearing 16441456-00 |
A Wheel Hub line, nine of which exist, e.g. 13320922-00 |
| Damaged cross member | individual arm lines such as 13148855-00 |
Suspension Beam Complete 14018535-00 |
Buying the smaller line keeps the invoice low and leaves fitment risk with your own identification. Buying the larger unit costs more and moves identification risk down, without settling every question: both levels being listed separately means these are separate lines, and what a given number arrives with is confirmed against that number. We confirm, part number by part number, whether we can supply it. Remanufactured units can be quoted on request by part number; availability is confirmed order by order.
5. What we can read from an enquiry, and what we cannot
The fastest exchanges contain the same five items, and anything less turns into another round of questions.
- The full 17-character VIN, with 0/O and 1/I read carefully.
- The OE number as printed on the label or casting,
-00suffix included. Every BYD line in our data uses eight digits plus-00, unlike the three-segment Tesla format, and the suffix is part of the identifier. - The side and the axle, taken from the vehicle rather than guessed.
- A photograph of the label, and of the part in position if it is still fitted.
- The quantity, and whether you want the piece-level or unit-level line above.
What we cannot do is infer fitment. The index carries no model and no year against these lines, and we will not reconstruct one from the shape of a number. Application is confirmed per enquiry against the OE number and the VIN. Where the two disagree, the number wins, and we say so before quoting.
6. Ordering mechanics and commercial terms
Minimum order value is €50 per shipment. Guide prices are shown on the parts pages; trade and volume pricing on request. Typical dispatch time is confirmed on the quotation; transit depends on the shipping method you choose. If the line is not in our published index, send us the part number or a photo of the label, and we will check whether we can source it. Browse the suspension and steering category or send the number through the enquiry page.
Short answers
Why does one part name have sixteen numbers? Because several bodies, several powertrain options and several revisions share a family name. In our index Suspension Spring Washer runs to sixteen numbers and Shock Absorber to twelve, with no fitment column to separate them. Order the number.
Can I order a suspension arm as left or right?
Not by name. The index does not print handedness, and it contains consecutive pairs that behave like handed versions of one component, such as 13329981-00 and 13329982-00. Read the side off the old part or the label; where it is already scrapped, send the VIN.
Does a bigger unit avoid the problem?
Partly. Suspension Beam Complete 14018535-00 removes the need to identify each arm, but it is a separate listed line and what it includes is confirmed against the number itself.
Do neighbouring numbers mean related parts?
No. 14012457-00 is a strut mounting and 14012458-00 a spring washer. Treat every digit as load-bearing.
What if my OE number is not listed? Send us the part number or a photo of the label, and we will check whether we can source it. We confirm, part number by part number, whether we can supply it.
Where this comes from.
The references quoted above are taken from GNSGO's own parts index for BYD vehicles — the same list at BYD-compatible parts — OE reference index. Application is confirmed per enquiry against the OE number and the VIN; the published index does not carry model-year fitment, so we do not infer it here. Model names follow the export designations listed on this page. We have not drawn on BYD's copyrighted workshop documentation, and we do not reproduce any manual or wiring-diagram pages.
This page is general information only. It is not a repair instruction, not a diagnosis of a particular vehicle, and not a substitute for professional advice. Restraint-system and high-voltage parts are outside the scope of this page. Work on high-voltage systems, restraint systems and structural repairs belongs with technicians qualified for it. Confirm the application against the VIN before ordering. Have any work carried out by a suitably qualified workshop.
