How to order Tesla parts from GNSGO — a procurement checklist

A Tesla parts enquiry is an identification problem wearing a purchasing costume. The workshop already knows what is broken; what decides whether the purchase works is whether the number on the box matches the car on the lift. Most delays in this trade are not shipping delays — they are the week lost to a reference that was nearly right. This page sets out what GNSGO needs in order to quote, why the VIN sits at the top of the list, and why an enquiry without it can only return a range. Send the VIN and the complete old part number in the first message, not the third.

1. Why the VIN comes first

"Model 3" is a model line, not an application. Within it sit pre-facelift and post-facelift builds, different production locations and market specifications, and running changes the catalogue records as different references at the same position. A registration year helps, but it is an imperfect proxy for build configuration.

The VIN is the key that fixes the enquiry to one vehicle. It does not by itself produce a stock number — we still compare it against the old reference and the recorded fit — but it lets us discard the candidates that merely looked plausible. The mechanism is set out in VIN part confirmation — why the photo is not enough: the VIN gives the vehicle boundary, the old label gives what the car currently carries, and the photograph supports both without replacing either.

2. The seven fields we need before we can quote

Field What it settles If it is missing
VIN Build period, plant, market specification We can only quote a reference family, not a confirmed application
Old OE number, typed out The exact reference currently on the car We search by description, which is slower and less reliable
Photo of the old label Catches misread characters, hyphens and suffix letters A single misread letter produces a wrong part
Position and side Front/rear, left/right A guess, in a category where sides do not interchange
Supplied scope Assembly, bracket, service panel, primed, core A different saleable item arrives
Built-in options Sensor holes, camera, radar brackets, premium lamps The part arrives without the provision your car needs
Quantity Whether a kit, a pair or single units apply A job stops halfway for a second shipment

Side is not cosmetic. In GNSGO's own 1,058-reference Tesla index, 274 records carry "Left Hand" in the name, with a comparable group on the right — separate references, not one part fitted either way.

3. Information completeness decides quotation speed

What you send What GNSGO can do with it Likely path
Model name only — "Model 3 front bumper" Nothing confirmable; several references sit at that position We come back with questions, and the clock has not started
Model + year + part name Narrow to a family, several candidates still open A list of possibilities, no price — the item is not identified
Old OE number, typed out Confirm the reference and read its revision family A real quotation, subject to availability
Old OE number + VIN Confirm the reference, the revision and the application Firmest quote, fewest follow-up messages
Full set — VIN, old label, photos, side, scope, quantity Confirm everything, including freight Quotation and freight in one exchange

Every field you leave out becomes a message. Two messages is a day; a day is a week when the car is blocking a ramp.

4. Why no VIN means a range, not a price

Without a VIN we can often say what a reference is and roughly what it costs. We cannot say it is the reference for your car, and we will not imply it.

The driven-hub family shows why. 1044121-00-E is recorded as a 150 mm flange driven hub for Model 3 (2017–2023); 1044121-00-F is a 142 mm flange driven hub for Model 3 (2024–). Same name, same location, different recorded dimension and application period.

The same trap sits in suspension. 1044321-00-F is recorded as a Front Upper Control Arm Assembly, Left Hand, for Model 3 (2017–2023) and Model Y (2020–2024), and 1044321-00-J as a Left Front Upper Control Arm Assembly for the same two applications. Two live references under one base number: only the VIN and the old label decide which one the car left the factory with.

So with no VIN, the honest output is a range across the plausible candidates plus a note on what would narrow it — not a stalling tactic, but the difference between a quotation and a guess.

5. The old label beats the description, every time

Type the complete reference into the message, then photograph the label as well — a suffix letter misread, a hyphen dropped or a middle code assumed rather than read causes real losses. Where the label is damaged, send the VIN and every character you can make out, and say which ones you guessed. GNSGO will compare the candidates rather than quietly pick one and call it confirmed.

6. Scope and options: the part of the order that gets mis-specified most

Two references can occupy the same position and still be different saleable items. 1493736-S0-A is recorded as a Front Fascia Unpainted With Parking Assist Brackets; 1493736-SC-A is a Front Bumper — Primed for Model Y (2020–2024). One is a bare fascia with brackets, the other arrives primed. A buyer asking for "a front bumper" has not said which.

Built-in provisions are the other half. 1034804-S0-E is recorded as a Rear Bumper — Without Sensor Holes: if the car has parking sensors, the reference is a different one, and no goodwill at the fitting stage changes that.

Lamp and camera lines behave the same way. 1502086-00-D is recorded as a Tail Lamp Assembly — Rear Bodyside Global — Left Hand, while 1502086-99-D is a Lamp Assembly Rear Bodyside Left Hand for Model 3 and Model Y. 1125106-77-E is a Side Repeater Camera Left Hand for Model 3 (2017–2023) — a lamp that is also a camera, and a line that must be quoted as the correct reference. 1099611-00-D is a Radial Unpainted Parking Assist Sensor (High Performance): "unpainted" is part of the specification, not a remark about stock. Whole-part versus sub-component is a third trap — 1077371-10-B is recorded as a Headlight Bracket LH for Model 3 (2017–2023), and a bracket is not a headlamp.

7. Quantity: kits, pairs and cores

State quantity per reference, not per job. Three habits cause trouble:

  • Service kits are one line, not several. 8008240-00-C is recorded as a Brake Pad Kit, Service, Front Caliper, Base, for Model 3 and Model Y. Ordering "pads" without saying kit or per-axle leaves the count ambiguous.
  • Sided parts are usually replaced in context. 1044625-00-B is a Rear Brake Caliper, Left Hand, Base, for Model 3 (2017–2023) and Model Y (2020–2024). If the job is both sides, say so in the first message — it changes the price and the freight.
  • Some references are a remanufacturing route, not a finished part. 1044090-00-A is recorded as a Damper Assembly, Front Left, Coil, E2 RWD for Model 3 (2017–2023); 1044090-00-AX is a Front LH Hydraulic Two Wheeldrive Shock Absorber Core. Different line, different terms — see OE, aftermarket and remanufactured.

Consumables are where quantity works for you: 1107681-00-A and 1107681-00-C are both recorded as an HVAC Combination Filter for Model 3 and Model Y, and a service-stock order of filters is the easiest way to clear a minimum shipment with a part you will definitely use.

8. What happens after you send it

We match the old reference and VIN against our own index and sourcing chain, and say plainly if the application cannot be confirmed. You then receive the reference, unit guide price, availability status and — once the lines are fixed — a freight quote for the whole shipment. Only after you accept do we take money. Restricted, sea-only or uneconomical lines are flagged in the quotation, not discovered later.

9. GNSGO's commercial terms, stated plainly

  • Minimum order value: €50 per shipment. Below that, freight and handling dominate the invoice.
  • Guide prices are shown on the parts pages as per-unit figures for quantities of 1–4 pieces, excluding VAT and shipping, with trade and volume pricing on request. They let you compare a line; they are not a landed cost. Freight is quoted separately, because it depends on what else is in the box.
  • Availability is confirmed per quotation. A reference in our index is a record, not a stock promise. We confirm, part number by part number, whether we can supply it, against the OE number and, where it matters, the VIN, before we take payment.
  • We are an independent supplier. GNSGO is not a Tesla-authorised dealer or distributor and does not present itself as one. Where a line is aftermarket or remanufactured, we say which it is. Remanufactured units can be quoted on request by part number; availability is confirmed order by order.

Consolidating lines into one shipment clears the minimum and spreads the freight — the most effective way to make a China-sourced order work.

Short answers

Do I really have to give the VIN?

Yes, if you want a confirmed application rather than a candidate list. Without it we can identify a reference but cannot confirm it belongs to your car, so the honest answer is a range.

The old label is unreadable. What now?

Send the VIN and every character you can make out, and tell us which ones you guessed. We will compare the plausible references rather than pick one silently.

Why did you ask for a photo when I already sent the number?

Because the label catches what typing gets wrong — a suffix letter, a middle code, a hyphen.

Can I order by description if I am in a hurry?

You can, but it will not be faster. A description generates questions; a number and a VIN generate a quotation.

What is your minimum order?

€50 per shipment. Guide prices are shown on the parts pages; trade and volume pricing on request. Availability is confirmed per quotation.

Where this comes from.

The references, names and recorded applications quoted above are taken from GNSGO's own parts index for China-built and China-sourced Tesla parts — the same list at Tesla compatible parts — OE reference index. The commercial terms — €50 minimum per shipment, guide prices shown on the parts pages with trade and volume pricing on request, and availability confirmed per quotation — are GNSGO's own published policy. Enquiries are confirmed against the OE number and, where it matters, the VIN. We have not drawn on Tesla's copyrighted workshop documentation for this page, and we do not reproduce any manual pages. Where GNSGO holds no application for a reference, we say so rather than treating a plausible match as confirmed.
