Aiways colour codes: why the same part carries a different number
On many Aiways interior and trim parts the reference ends with a colour code such as -CM02 or -CM14. This is not a paint code. It is the interior colour variant, and it is part of the part number itself.

1. What the colour code actually means
Aiways delivers many interior components pre-finished from the factory. A door trim panel, a seat side cover, a pillar garnish — each is moulded and finished in one of several interior colourways. The same structural part in a different colour is a different part number, because it is a different finished article.
2. How to pick the right code
- Read the code off the old part if you can see it (printed or moulded on the part).
- If the old part is gone, note the vehicle's interior trim level — the codes are tied to trim specification.
- Give the VIN to your supplier. GNSGO verifies colour code against VIN before quoting.
- Do not assume "close enough" — CM02 (mid grey) and CM11 (light grey) are different parts.
3. What happens if you ignore the colour code
You will receive a part that is mechanically identical but visually wrong — a grey seat side cover in a black interior, or a beige pillar trim in a grey car. It will not be returnable as a "wrong part" in the usual sense: it is the right part, wrong colour, and the colour is part of the identity. Confirm before ordering, not after.
