B106571 — Tailgate release switch stuck
Quick answer
B106571 indicates that the tailgate release switch appears stuck to the body control module, so the tailgate may not open or may release unexpectedly.
What to check first
- Read all stored fault codes with a scan tool and deal with related codes first.
- Check the 12 V battery state of charge and terminals; a weak 12 V supply causes many electronic faults.
- Inspect the fuses that protect this circuit.
Symptoms you may notice
- Tailgate release does not respond
- Tailgate behaves as if the switch is held
- B106571 stored in the BCM
- Switch button not returning
Can I still drive?
Usually drivable — have it checked soon. If in doubt, park the car and ask a technician — a fault that limits power or shuts the high-voltage system down will not clear by itself.
